Ashdod Perfect in Preseason

Ashdod came back from 15 points down in the first half against Raanana Hertzeliya on the road to win 74-69 and wrap up preseason with a 4-0 record.

After beating Tel Kabir twice and Ramat Hasharon once (87-83), Ashdod seemed headed for it's first preseason loss today in Hertzeliya. Both teams started with a full court press but it worked better for Raanana Hertzeliya who took advantage of Ashdod's turnovers to go up 11-4. Ashdod was able to cut it to 14-18 before Noa Ganor with five points pushed the lead to 25-16 after 1.
Raanana Hertzeliya got stuck against Ashdod's zone in the 2nd quarter and was without a field goal for the first six minutes. Ashdod seemed to have more turnovers than baskets so they didn't take advantage. Mistie Williams helped Raanana Hertzeliya increase the lead to 37-22, they led 39-28 at the half.
Tanisha Wright made sure to keep the lead in tact early in the 3rd, but eventually Ashdod woke up. Karin Agassi scored 8, Ayana Walker had a layup and a 3-point play and Ortal Oren nailed a 3 to seal the quarter, down 55-57.
Ashdod continued to get easy baskets thanks to their defense, one fastbreak followed another and they were up 64-59. Brandi McCain's 3 offically closed it out though Ganor added two more threes of her own to cut the final score to 69-74.
