The Ultimate Professional
Those three words are what Plenette Pierson uses to define herself. Much has been said and written about this player who first came to Israel nearly a decade ago, and led Ashdod to a historic season. Moments after cutting down the nets, we decided it was time to let Pierson do the talking and listen to what she has to say about Ashdod, Ramla, herself, the Israeli players and more.

"Cinderella Season"
Plenette Pierson came up with a fitting definition for Ashdod's season, which ended with a crazy overtime win in game 5 to complete a historic double. All comments from both teams - inside.

History: Ashdod Wins Championship
We couldn't ask for a more fitting finale to such an amazing finals series. Tied at 33 at the break, tied at 58 at the end of regulation, nerve wrecking overtime decided by one offensive rebound by Kolodny who then made two huge free throws to make it 70 – 66 with 4.9 secs left, and set off the yellow celebrations.

Ashdod Spoil Ramla’s Party
The women’s playoffs finals is going the distance for the first time in 5 years, thanks to Ashdod’s huge win in Ramla. Ashdod came back from a 14 point deficit and managed to surpass 60 points for the first time in the series in route to a 67-57 victory. Plenette Pierson, who received the season MVP trophy at the half, carried her team with an impressive performance including 12 points in the 4th quarter to ruin Ramla’s planned celebration.
Ramla's Defense Too Much in Game 3
After game 1, Adan Inbar said he hoped Ramla would be the one to score one more basket. Tonight in game 3 in Ashdod he got his wish, though in this series it makes more sense to ask for one more stop. In another defensive battle Ramla was better through out, led by 10 with 3 minutes to play only to watch Ashdod cut it to 1 but the champs held on, 60 – 58.
No Drama: Ramla Takes Game 2
Tamera Young was named MVP of game 1, but tonight she'll probably have trouble sleeping. Ramla in a game they had to win got Alena Beard in her best game of the season and enjoyed another day at the office from Tanisha Wright to get a convincing 68-60 win.
Game 1: Ashdod Edges Ramla
Game 1 of the Finals provided a real thriller in an excellent atmosphere in Ashdod, who played a great 1st half only to see the lead vanish in the 2nd. Ashdod scored the final four points of the game to get a 58-56 win and a 1-0 lead in the series.
Ashdod Sweeps, advances to Finals
Ashdod completed a 3 - 0 semi finals series sweep of HaBikaa with a comfortable 74-54 win. Brittney Denson led the way with 19 points.
Pierson MVP, Bogatin Coach of the year
'Safsal's traditional end of season Coaches survey left no room for doubt regarding the Player of the year and Coach of the year. The coaches also selected the league's 1st Team and Breakout season, you might be surprised to find out which team has no representation.
Yellow History
Maccabi Ashdod dominated the Israeli Cup Finals against Ramat Hasharon and won, 63 – 50, much to the delight of their awesome fans. Endi Dagan upped his unbelievable record at Cup Finals to 7 for 7, as his team was led by Tamera Young and Ashley Shields. Ashdod played smart and uncompromising basketball from the tip and charged hard for the Cup.
