Friendly Tournament: U-20 lose, Seniors win

The under-20 Israeli National Team lost 42-53 tonight to Latvia's U-20 NT in the first day of the friendly tournament hosted in Israel. In the 2nd game of the day, the unofficial and short handed Israeli national team beat Italy's U-20 NT, 72-64.

Israeli U-20 NT 42 – Latvian U-20 Team 53
The U-20 Israeli NT did not look god in the opening game of the 3-day tournament, and trailed Latvia through out. With 1:20 left to play Israel got within 42-45 but didn't score another point.

Israeli NT 72 – Italy U-20 NT
The Israeli team compiled of Israeli national team members and hopefuls led for most of the game against the U-20 Italian squad. Italy led 18-16 after the 1st quarter, but Israel gained the lead early in the 2nd. Liron Cohen with nice drives made it 34-27 before the Italians cut the lead to 34-35 at the break. In the 3rd quarter Cohen and Liad Suez Karni kept leading the way, Israel got some fast breaks and led 59-51 at the end of the quarter. The lead stayed intact in the 4th.
