Just when things were finally starting to look up for Raanana Hertzeliya, Crystal Robinson broke a finger on her right hand and is out for at least 6 weeks.
Crystal Robinson played in 8 games this year and helped bring Raanana Hertzeliya back to the playoff picture with a win over Ashdod on Monday, but then came the latest blow to Raanana Hertzeliya's injury plagued season. Robinson broke a finger on her right hand, she will have to wear a cast for 6 weeks and is probably out for the season. Robinson was averaging 15.4 points and 7.1 rebounds per game this season.
"I suppose she's done for the year, the decision is hers to make" said Tal Natan. "I've been coaching in this league for 13 years and I don't remember anything like this," he said in regards to the blows his team suffered this season. Robinson is the 3rd player to suffer what seems to be a season injury, after La'Tangela Atkinson and Tasha Butts left earlier this year. Also, the team lost Jia Perkins who had to return home to be by her father's side who still has not recovered from surgery. "I'm full of appreciation to my team, other teams would have fallen apart" said Natan. "We'll try to do our best and raise the level of the other players. We'll deal with it even though it's very difficult, especially mentally", he added.
