Ramat Hen Signed Tamicha Jackson

The patient stayed on the waiting list for an offense transplant long enough, and finally the doctors opted for a somewhat alternative solution with potential of saving the situation, if the body doesn't reject the foreign object. Tamicha Jackson, the American combo guard who was released from Hapoel Tel Aviv, has signed with Maccabi Ramat Hen.

Ramat Hen parted ways with Barbra Turner even before their 2nd game in Ramla in the cup 1/4s, and ever since lots of rumors have been flying around about who will take her spot. Eventually Ramat Hen decided to go with Tamicha Jackson, the high scoring guard who was released from Hapoel Tel Aviv. "We were looking for a player who's been on a team and played games, not someone who'll need a month to get going, we don’t have that time", said Ramat Hen coach, Shiki Falah. "We looked for a player who could play both the 1 and 2. We'll play her at the 2 a lot. I didn't want someone who's mainly a point guard because then we'd lose Shiri [Sharon]", Falah continued.

There's no doubt it's going to be very interesting to see how Jackson, the league's 4th best scorer with 21.9 points per game, and 20.5 shots per game, will fit in with the team. "It's obvious she's not going to change all of a sudden and only play by my system, but this is a quality team and she'll understand she needs to fit in", said Falah. "On our team we're missing a player who'd draw the defense, she creates points and takes the ball to the basket, and I hope it'll make the rest of the players more comfortable to do what they're supposed to do. Bringing her is a smaller gamble because we know what we're getting, she knows the league, and we don't have the luxury of losing a game or two", he summed up.

Jackson will make her Ramat Hen debut on Thursday, January 4th, in a road game against Raanana Hertzelia, who recently knocked Jackson's Hapoel out of the cup 1/4s.
