The Mwadi has landed

We've all missed Mabika over the past five years, but Anda Ramat Hasharon's been missing her really bad in these last 4 weeks.
After a couple of false alarms, Mabika has finally landed in Israel, following a long stay in Congo.

Nearly two months after we first published that Mwadi Mabika, one of the greatest players to play here, is coming back to our country - she arrived. Mabika will practice with Anda tomorrow night and is expected to play against Ramat Hen on Monday.

Mabika, one of seven WNBA 10 year vets and long time starter of the Los Angeles Sparks, is back with Ramat Hasharon five years after she led them to a Championship and lead the league in scoring with 22.6 points per game. During her time in Congo Mabika worked mainly on conditioning and says she's hungry for the ball.

Mabika arrived in Israel from Congo, where she started a fund that carries her name and works in favor of children who are rape victims or suffering from AIDS, and some of them lost their parent to AIDS. From the money she started raising this summer in the states, the fund is already taking care of nearly 200 children who are participating in various activities in the fields of education, computers and sports in organized centers.

"I'm very excited to be back in Israel and play on the team I love so much, which I'll never forget. I really appreciate coach Orna Ostfeld and I miss her. She's the main reason I'm here", said Mabika.

As she entered the city of Ramat Hasharon Mabika directed her welcome party to the street where Ostfeld lives, and started remembering the names of the city's main streets.
