Ramat Hen wins Ramat Gan tourney

Maccabi Ramat Hen won the Ramat Gan Mayor tournament with a win over Bnei Yehuda, 79 – 68, behind 25 points from Rada Vidovic. In the game for 3rd place, Raanana Hertzeliya defeated Holon 86 – 67.

Bnei Yehuda showed up with just six players, they are still waiting for Brandi Davis and Rivi Grinboym to arrive from overseas. Noa Ganor with a basket and a three helped Bnei Yehuda jump to an early 7-2 lead, before DeTrina White scored six straight to give Ramat Hen the lead. Both teams looked like they are expected to seem in a preseason game, Ramat Hen was bombing the basket from 3 against the zone and Bnei Yehuda couldn't get much going other than their transition game. Ramat Hen led 22-19 after 1. Sharon Zeevi and Shiri Sharon connected from 3 at the start of the 2nd quarter but Natasha Brackett, who had just 2 points in the 1st, woke up with 8 straight. Barbara Turner made sure Ramat Hen keeps the lead at the half, 38-31.
Vidovic, who had 8 points in the first half, doubled her point total early in the 3rd as Ramat Hen took a 48-33 lead. Noa Ganor and Ayelet Cohen with two treys cut the lead to 41-50 but Ramat Hen closed the quarter with a 13-4 run and led 63-45. Vidovic had 4 threes in the period, Turner spent most of the 3rd on the bench with 4 fouls. Crystal Johnson with 6 points tried to get Bnei Yehuda back in it, but Vidovic soon buried another 3. Shiri Sharon's back to back threes sealed the deal, 74-59 with 4:30 left.

After allowing 34 points in the 1st quarter against Bnei Yehuda on Tuesday, Raanana Hertzeliya held Holon to 30 points in the first half. Raanana Hertzeliya led 21-13 after one, with 6 points each for Atkinson and Campbell. Raanana Hertzeliya used threes by Shwartz and Nusel to build the lead, Atkinson's steal and layup made it 34-19 with 6 minutes to go in the half. Raanana Hertzeliya led 44-30 at the half, with 15 points for Campbell and 13 for Atkinson. Cyndi Valentin led Holon with 15 points. In the 3rd Raanana Hertzeliya raced to a 71-49 lead, with 9 points from Campbell and 4 threes. Holon couldn't get much closer in the 4th, despite 10 points from Valentin.
