Ramat Hen & Bnei Yehuda in the Ramat Gan tourney Final

Ramat Hen hosted the semi finals of the Ramat Gan tournament. In the 1st game, Bnei Yehuda surprised Raanana Hertzeliya with a 97-90 win. In the 2nd game Ramat Hen beat Holon 85-72. The finals are scheduled for Thursday.

The scrimmages season got officially underway this afternoon at Ramat Hen's gym. Ramat Hen will play Bnei Yehua in the tournament finals, while Raanana Hertzeliya will face Holon in the consolation game.

Bnei Yehuda 97 – Raanana Hertzeliya 90
In a game that featured no defense at all, Natasha Brackett led a balanced Bnei Yehuda attack with 34 points. Bnei Yehuda was without American Brandi Davis, who's still abroad, but controlled the game from start to finish. Bnei Yehuda led 34-20 after 1, and 51-45 at the half. Six straight points by Ortal Oren tied the score at 74 but Noa Ganor's 3 gave the momentum back to Bnei Yehuda and they didn't trail the rest of the way.

Ramat Hen 85 – Holon 72
Ramat Hen was without Marianna Raguz, who had to sit out with a strained Achilles, and without Meirav Dori who was advised to sit out by the team's doctor.

The first quarter was close and ended with Ramat Hen up 22-19. Barbara Turner had 9 points for Ramat Hen, she was very aggressive and got a lot of touches, and even hit two 3-pointers. The start of the 2nd quarter belonged to Cyndi Valentin, Holon's guard, who scored 9 out of her team's first 14 points in the quarter (the other 5 points were Liel Ohchanon's). Holon gained a 38-33 lead with 3 minutes before halftime, but Ramat Hen closed the quarter on a 19-2 run. Ramat Hen stroked seven threes in the quarter, and Shiri Sharon's steal and layup set the halftime score at 52-40. Rada Vidovic with 15 & Cyndi Valentin with 13 points (on perfect shooting) led Ramat Hen & Holon in points respectively at the break.

DeTrina White recorded her first field goal of the game early in the 3rd and helped Ramat Hen get its biggest lead of the game at 58-40. In a weak quarter for both teams, Holon slowly crept back into the game and Tawona Alhaleem who wasn't really in the game until that point hit a 3 from half court at the buzzer to make it just 55-62 after 3. Another basket by Alhaleem and two free throws by LaNedra Brown made it a 3-point game early in the 4th. Valentin's only miss in the game and Turner's only basket in the 2nd half made it a 5 point game, before Brown's 3-point play cut it to 62-64. Ramat Hen answered with 6 straight points, Valentin tried to fight back but Ramat Hen pulled away.
