Hapoel Tel Aviv sign three

Israeli league champion Hapoel Tel Aviv signed point guard Leslie Berger, guard Shachar Alterman and center Lena Fedulova.

Hapoel has officially signed British Forward Rosalee Mason.

Jewish American Leslie Berger who played for Elizur Ramla last season signed with Hapoel Tel Aviv for the upcoming season. Berger, a Washington graduate, played in the 2005 Maccabiah games in Israel.

"I'm very excited to have the opportunity to play in Israel again and to get to spend another season experiencing the history and culture of the country," said Berger. "I learned a lot last year, not only from a basketball standpoint, but also about my heritage. It is an honor that for two straight years I have been asked to play for the reigning championship team [Ramla last season and Hapoel this season] and I really look forward to helping Hapoel Tel Aviv retain the title for another year. I'm also looking forward to lots of success in the FIBA Euro Cup for us," she added.

Rosalee Mason (27, 5'10), a player Hapoel has been after for over a month, has signed with the team. This will be Mason's 2nd time in Israel, after a short stint with Haifa Motzkin in the 04/05 season. Mason, a member of the British national team, played in her homeland last year. Her team made it to the finals. Mason ranked seventh in the British league in scoring with 16.8 ppg and in rebounding with 8.3. She also ranked fourth in offensive rebounds with 3.42 per game and third in three point percentage with 50%. After playing in Wales she won a bronze medal with the British National Team at the 2006 Commonwealth Games.
Before coming to Israel Mason played at Manhatten college and was a 3-Time MAAC All Conference Selection. She l theed MAAC in scoring and rebounding 2004; Ranked sixth in the NCAA for rebounding 2004; Named All-Met Division 1 First Team Selection 2004; Finished career as Manhattan's career leader for rebounds (1,217) and ranked second for scoring (1,875)

Hapoel also signed the under-21 national team member who played for Bnei Yehuda last year, Shachar Alterman, and veteran Lena Fedulova from Ramat Hasharon.
