Monique Coker, the American forward who played for Raanana Hertzeliya last season and agreed to terms with Ramat Hen for the upcoming season has changed her mind about coming to Israel and signed with Poland's CCC Polkowice.
Ramat Hen announced over two months ago that Monique Coker, the 3rd best scorer (21.2 ppg) and 2nd best rebounder (11.8 rpg) in the league last season, will join the team for the 06/07 season. That of course was before the war in Lebanon started which made Coker have second thoughts.
Ramat Hen was not surprised to hear about Coker's signing in Poland. "Her agent told us that her family doesn't want her to come to Israel" said the team's chairwoman, Ora Glazer. "We've been talking to her all this time but her mother doesn't agree, her family is worried. We won't force anyone to come here, we'll have to look for other players", she added.
