Ornit Shwartz (25, 6'0) is the new captain for Anda Ramat Hasharon. This is Shwartz's 1st season in Ramat Hasharon, and she is taking over the captain duties now that Aluma Goren is in Motzkin.

At a team dinner last night after Ramat Hasharon completed the 2nd win in the Cup 1/8th finals, Shawartz and her teammates got the news.

Shwartz, a member of the Israeli National team (41 games), arrived from Maccabi Ramat Hen where she played last season and made the finals. She averaged barely 10 points and 5 rebounds per game. In previous years she played in Raanana, Ramla and William & Mery College.

Coach Orna Ostfeld: "Ornit has got a big challenge in her hands. I'm sure she will do everything in order to lead the team and make them a close bunch that pull for each other and share a great will to succeed".

Shwartz did not hide her excitement during the announcement. "I'm very honored to be named the captain of a big club like Ramat Hasharon. I'm aware just how important this job is, both on and off the court. I know the position requires a lot of leadership and it's important for me to do the best I can. The professional success and community involvement of the team is important to us all and we'll do everything to achieve our goals".
