The Jewish American center from the University of Pennsylvania will play for Anda Ramat Hasharon next season. Fleischer will also join the Israeli National Team and is expected to make a major impact.
Jennifer Fleischer (22, 6'3) as agreed to terms with Anda Ramat Hasharon for next season. Fleischer, the daughter of Bob Fleischer who starred in Maccabi & Hapoel Tel Aviv in the late 70's, will play as an Israeli (not a naturalizer) in Ramat Hasharon and the national team.
Fleischer graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in biomedical engineering. As a senior she averaged 8.4 points and 9.7 rebounds per game - good for 32nd best rebounding average in the NCAAs. She finished her career ranking fourth all-time in rebounds and second all-time in blocks at Penn. As a junior she averaged a double double of 10.8 points and 10.6 boards per game. In the 03/04 season she led Penn to the Ivy League Championship and was chosen for the 2nd-team All-Ivy League with 9.6 rebounds 9.0 points per game.
Fleischer played with the US Maccabiah team last summer, and had a great tournament. Against Israel in the finals she had 20 points and 18 rebounds as the USA captured the gold.
