European clubs snatch three
Lior Klinger ,05/26/2006
Three players who played in Israel last season have already signed in Europe for next season, and it's still May. Dominique Canty, K.B Sharp & Monika Veselovski are leaving Israel for Poland & France, Israeli fans may start missing them.

Hapoel Tel Aviv wanted Dominique Canty back, the reigning Finals MVP, and Elizur Ramla also expressed interests in Canty's services but the Polish Champions' actions spoke louder than words as they signed Canty for the coming season. Wilsa Krakow won the Polish league championship after a Game 7 win over Gdynia who has won the pervious nine titles. Canty is leaving Israel after two straight seasons.

Gdynia, who last year picked up Chelsea Newton & Temeka Johnson after their shorts stints in Israel, continues to stock up on players from our league this season as well. Gdynia signed Monika Veselovski who played there in 04/05. Veselovski played two seasons in Israel, in Ramla in 03/04 and in Ramat Hen last year. Gdynia is also interested in Marianna Raguz.

K.B Sharp, who played the point for Raanana Hertzelia last season, has signed in France with Provance – the runner up to Spartak in the last Eurocup Finals. Sharp is leaving Israel following two seasons, with Raanana Herztelia and Hapoel Tel Aviv. Provance's top player last season was Cathy Joens, who joined the club after Elizur Ramla broke up. In the meanwhile, those of us missing Sharp can catch her live on ESPN Israel at 2AM between Tuesday & Wednesday this week, as her Indiana Fever host the New York Liberty.
