Jackson is March player of the month
Orli Klinger ,03/31/2006
Now it's official, Deanna Jackson is one of the biggest talents we've seen here. Quiet, slender and with zero hype - but with great basketball skills that allow her to battle in the paint and be effective on the perimeter. Miss Jackson put up another wonderful month and she's our player of the month for the second straight time.

First, let's get the numbers out of the way. In March, DJ put up 22.2 points per game on 59.0% from 2 point range and 66.67% from 3, and 10.6 rebounds per game including 5.8 offensives. It started with a great effort of 21 points and 11 boards in Ramat Hen's Amber-less cup semi win over Raanana Herzelia. In the finals she finished a modest 14 points on 50% shooting night with a silver medal around her neck. She wrapped up league play with a 26 point on 75% shooting display, and then it was playoff time.

Her stat line in the two playoff games so far shows 25.5 points per game on 63.9% from 2 point range with 12.5 boards per game, 7 offensives. Add 2.5 steals, 1.5 assists and no turnovers at all. Jackson is quicker than Motzkin's posts and can take them to the hole, she plays smart on defense and she's simply the best player on the court in this series.

We'll end with an honorable mention for Hapoel Tel Aviv and Dominique Canty & Ayana Walker especially. The foreigner strike and the fact nobody did stats in their win over Bnei Yehuda left us with evidence of just two of their games this month.
