Ramat Hasharon finishes with W

Ramat Hasharon ended its training tournament in Turkey with their 2nd win in three games, 73-60 over Zagura of Bulgaria. A similar tournament will be held in Israel next year.


Ramat Hasharon's women's basketball team finished 2nd in the four team tourney after beating Zagura of Bulgaria, 73-60. Ramat Hasharon's Polish bosman Joanna Cupris was named the best power forward of the tournament.

The game was close throughout and Ramat Hasharon held a 36-32 lead at the break. Both of Ramat Hasharon's playmakers, Laine Selwyn and Shiri Sharon, played very well.

Ramat Hasharon's coach, Orna Ostfeld, summed up the training camp saying "we achieved exactly what we wanted. We learned the styles of play of our players and we know what we need to emphasize as we continue to prepare. We have a lot of work to do, and remember we're still without our two Americans (Melvin & Futrell)".

Ramat Hasharon and the tournament organizers agreed to hold a similar tournament in Ramat Hasharon next year.

The team will return to Israel tomorrow night.
