Dramatic win for Wildcats

Add another one to Shay Doron's long list of school records.

Doron registered her 1,000th career point tonight, and she needed just 64 games to reach it, less than any other player in Maryland history. Doron made a three with 8 minutes to go in the first half to set the mark, and made 3 of 5 from beyond the arc in the game. She finished with 23 points on 8 for 15 shooting, and addted 7 boardsa and 4 assists in 27 minutes.

"Scoring 1,000 points was a pretty big honor and I am glad that I have done it here in Maryland and obviously it was a great win for us" , Doron told the Terrapins site. "This is probably one of the most unselfish teams I have ever played on. We're making that extra pass and that extra dribble-drive for a teammate and getting great shots and great looks, our feet are set for the guards. Playing great like that and unselfish is just opening it up for everyone else."

Maryland missed five of its first seven shots but then went on a 19 - 0 run and never looked back. The terps' talented freshmen point guard, Kristi Toliver, had another great showing with 16 points and seven assists.
