Now it's official. Deanna Nolan, who signed with Anda Ramat Hasharon for this upcoming season, is the best 2-guard in the WNBA.

Deanna Nolan (26, 5'10) of the Detroit Shock and Anda Ramat Hasharon was named to the WNBA's 1st Team. On the 1st Team Nolan joins proven superstars Sue Bird, Sheryl Swoopes - the league MVP, former MVP Lauren Jackson and former MVP Yolanda Griffith.

Nolan led Detorit in points per game (15.9), assists per game (3.7), steals per game (1.6) and added 4.7 rebounds per game. Her scoring average ranks her 5th best in the enitre league.

"Deanna Nolan took another step towards becoming one of the best players in the WNBA this season,” said Shock Head Coach Bill Laimbeer, “and the media voting her to the All-WNBA First Team punctuates that. Not only was she our team MVP this year, but she was probably our most versatile player as well. She can defend against almost any player in the league, and despite being a natural shooting guard, she ran the point for us for long stretches this season and did so at a very high level of effectiveness.”

Nolan got off to a great start this season recording a triple double in her first game. She then set a club record and WNBA season high with 34 points in a game and also led all scorers in the All Star game with 20.

The players named to the All WNBA 2nd team are Diana Taurasi, Becky Hammon, Tameka Catchings, Lisa Leslie and Taj McWilliams-Franklin.
