Ford wins rebounding title

The WNBA's rebounding leader Cheryl Ford was named a 2005 Bud Light Peak Performer and was awarded $12,500, which she donated to Hurricane Katrina relief.

Deanna Nolan was named to the WNBA All-Defensive 2nd team.

Detroit's Cheryl Ford who is signed with Ramat Hasharon & Houston's Sheryl Swoopes have been named the WNBA's 2005 Bud Light Peak Performers. The Bud Light Peak Performers program honors the league's leading scorer and top rebounder during the regular season, awarding each of them $12,500.

Ford led the WNBA in rebounding for the first time in her career, averaging 9.8 rebounds. She holds the record for most offensive rebounds in a game (12) and most consecutive games with 10-plus rebounds (nine). Ford's career average of 9.9 rebounds is the highest in WNBA history.

Ford, a Louisiana native, donated all proceeds to the hurricane Katrina victims.

Ford's teammate in Detroit & Ramat Hasharon, Deanna Nolan, was named to the WNBA's All-Defensive 2nd team.
