Coach Aluma Goren

Aluma Goren, one of the greatest Israeli players of all time, hung up her sneakers just a couple of months ago and was already named Maccabi Hadera's new women's basketball head coach in division II.

Aluma Goren, former national team point guard and captain, will be coaching in the women's DII league next season. Goren's new team, Maccabi Hadera, finished in 2nd place last season with a 17-5 record and lost in the cup finals.

Goren was the face of Ramat Hasharon for years, before moving to Motzkin last season. After six games she shocked everyone with her transition to Ramla. Goren averaged 3.5 pts and 3.2 assists in Ramla before leaving the team following Tal Natan's dismisal live on TV in game 1 of the championship series.

Goren will start her coaching career not far from where she started her playing career, Hapoel Givat Hai'im. In addition to signing Goren as coach, Hedera now holds Goren's playing rights should she chose to be a player-coach.
