Futrell injured, will miss FF

Candace Futrell, Anda Ramat Hasharon's shooting guard, injured her ankle in this morning's practice and will not be joining the team in Eurocup Final Four in Napoli this weekend. Futrell had an MRI a few hours ago, and is doubtful for the remaining playoff games in Israel.

“It wasn’t even during practice, she just went to shoot”, said assistant coach Galit Musai of Futrell’s injury. Futrell has a badly sprained ankle and a partial tear, and will stay home this weekend and undergo treatment. “This happened to her years ago on the other foot and she had to have surgery. The diagnosis is that there’s a chance she’ll recover, they’re giving her a week. Because of the way her foot’s built it’s not definite yet, but if she doesn’t recover in a week she’ll have surgery and be done for the season”, Musai added.

The mood isn’t very cheerful in the Ramat Hasharon camp, as the players didn’t think her injury was this bad. “It’s not pleasant but one player doesn’t win games, teams do”, Musai continued. “Like Brazkova stepped up in the Israeli Cup Semis and Shwartz stepped up in the finals, let’s hope this time it’ll be Cuprys. Raguz will be more significant now and everyone will have to give a little extra, but I believe in our team”.
