Better late than never, Round 16’s first team is finally here. These two games a week take a toll on us stat hunters too. Michal Epstein is the round MVP, and five teams are represented in the first team.
Round 16 MVP – Michal Epstein
It’s time to give some extra attention to the most deprived team on ‘Safsal’. A win over Jerusalem isn’t exactly a cause for celebration but for Ashdod who lost to them in the first meeting, a convincing win like that is not half bad. Epstien has been playing very well ever since she returned to Israel after leaving Boston U, she finished with 23 points on 9/12 shooting and grabbed 7 boards in the win.
Round 16 First Team
Tamara Moore – Raanana Herzeliya did lose but Moore did all she could with 27 points on the toughest defense in the league. Moore scored her team’s first 10 points in 9:59 minutes and 14 out of the first 19.
Alexandra Music – Music had her best game of the year with a season high 22 points on 9 for 12 shooting in Ramat Hen’s win over Haifa/Motzkin.
Michal Esptein – Season high 23 points in Ashdod’s 91-65 trashing of Jerusalem.
Shameka Christon – Another day in the office for the wonderful Christon, 19 points is all the stats we know from the boxscore-less game but you don’t need numbers to know who led Ramla to the important win in Herzeliya.
Octavia Blue – 22 pts on good shooting and 7 boards in Bnei Yehuda’s win at Tel Aviv, to stop their 4 game losing skid.
