Bnot Raanana Hertzelia released Mandisa Stevenson and signed Ashley Robinson (6'4, 22), a member of the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury.
Ashley Robinson was drafted 14th overall in the last WNBA draft by Phoenix, where she teamed up with Tamara Moore and played 6.8 minutes per game in 19 games. She's known as a great shotblocker and was 3rd in the WNBA in blocks per 40 minutes. On paper Robinson seems like a good fit for Raanana Hertzelia, as a tall post who can play on the high post to complement DeTrina White.
Robinson is a graduate of Tennessee University, where she played four seasons. Robinson came to Tennessee as one of the top High School players in the country, and her name was right up there with the likes of Diana Taurasi. As a freshman Robinson was voted to the SEC's all freshman team.
Robinson tore her ACL between her freshman and sophmore seasons, but decided not to redshirt and returned to the court midway through her sophmore year. In her senior season Robinson put up 8.1 points, 6.4 rebounds and two blocks per game.
