The rookie influx continues. Ashdod completed its roster by signing Ashley Walker of the Seattle Storm, who will join a childhood friend.

Ashley Walker & Courtney Paris, two young WNBA rookie posts, know each other pretty much from the day they started playing basketball. Usually Walker had to deal with Courtney and her twin sister (who signed with Ramla). But now, in Ashdod, Walker will finally have the numbers on her side.

Walker (22, 6'1) graduated from the University of California and was the 12th pick overall in the draft. She's a strong versatile player, with a good mid range and even three point shot, who's supposed to complete the very physical Paris. Walker finished a wonderful career at Cal as the all time leading rebounder and 2nd all time leading scorer. In her senior year she averaged 19.8 points (led Pac 10) and 8.6 rebounds per game, making the Pac 10's first team and all defensive team.

Walker, who came to Cal when they were far from being a major force, left after helping the program become a legit tourney team. She also became the program's first draft pick, but she hasn't been getting much of a chance in Seattle, averaging 4.6 minutes per game.

Walker joins Courtney Paris, Natasha Lacy, Shiran Zairy, Ornit Shwartz, Rivi Grinboym, Lena Mustafina and Nofar Shalom.
