Hapoel Tel Aviv, who is on a five game losing streak, is using the break to make some changes. Tel Aviv signed KB Sharp, a young point guard and member of the WNBA’s New York Liberty.

Kristen Brooke Sharp, KB as everyone calls her, is Hapoel Tel Aviv’s new point guard. Sharp’s signing also means that LaToya Turner is gone and Lili Latinovic will probably be replaced by a European post player.

Sharp (23, 5’9) was drafted 26th in the 2003 WNBA draft by the NY Liberty and has played there ever since. In her two year with the Libs, Sharp averaged 2.1 points and 1.2 assists in 10.6 minutes per game. Last summer she ranked 9th in the WNBA in assists per 40 minutes.

Last season KB played in Russia and won the Eurocup. She averaged 6.3 points and 1.6 assists in 21 minutes per game in the Eurocup.

Sharp is a 03’ grad of the University of Cincinnati, and was named to conference USA’s First Team in her senior year. She dished a total of 623 assists during her bearcat career which ranks her 2nd all time in C-USA.

Hapoel also signed young Serbian center, Jela Males.
