Bushinski Leaves Ashdod

Two days after the management decided to release Tamara Moore to Ramla, Coach Daliah Bushinski announced her resignation from the team. "As one who has the upmost respect for the profession and sport, I asked the management to end my contract as the team's coach", she said.

Daliah Bushinski, Ashdod's coach for the last three season, has decided to resign. As recalled, two days ago the team's chairperson, Naor Galili, decided to release Ashdod's best player, Tamara Moore, saying the team cannot reach its goals which were to make the top 4.

Bushinski arrived to Ashdod in the 06/07 season and led the club to a 5th place finish two years in a row, ending a 2-seasons long losing record. Last year Ashdod appeared for the first time in club history in the cup semi finals, and made a name for itself as one of the most refreshing teams in the league with a supporting fan base. Ashdod is currently 5th in the standings with a 9-5 record, thanks to an excellent first round before the war and mid-season changes. Bushinski, Israel's U-20 National Team Coach, guided Ashdod to a 112-70 win over Hapoel Tel Aviv last night in her final game as the coach.

In a press release, Bushinski wrote: "I arrived in Ashdod three years ago as a first time coach in D1. The connection with the club, the management, the players and the fans was immediate and natural.
During these three seasons we upgraded the club to the highest level of Israeli women's basketball, we faced all the big teams as equals, with one of the biggest fan bases and a unique atmosphere.

Unfortunately, recent events led to Tamara Moore release. As one who has the upmost respect for the profession and sport, I asked the management to end my contract as the team's coach. My request was accepted respectfully, thanks to the cooperation and mutual respect the management and I have always had.

I want to thank Naor Galili, Alon Ben Zaken, Tomer and Simon. I wish the club and the players success in the rest of the season, and in the future. I'm confident and trust that the management will get through these difficult times and lead the club back to many more joyful moments in Israeli women's basketball.

I take with me many moments of yellow fun and memories for a lifetime".
