Preseason: Raanana Hertzeliya Score 96
Lior Klinger ,10/13/2008
Raanana Hertzeliya is lucky to have enough talent on offense cause with the defense they played today at Bnei Yehuda, they'll need to score in the 90s to win once the regular season starts too. The final was 96-92 for the visitors, three players scored over 25.

Bnei Yehuda 92 - Raanana Hertzeliya 96
Raanana Hertzeliya led through out the game and even built a 10-point lead several times but kept letting Bnei Yehuda get back in it despite a quiet day for Candace Futrell, the lone player Raanana Hertzeliya's defense did key on.

Charde Houston was excellent in the first quarter and took advantage of the fact Bnei Yehuda has no matchup for her. She scored 9 in the quarter and Jessica Dickson added six to help Raanana Hertzeliya lead 26-23 after 10 minutes. Bnei Yehuda did most of their scoring from outside and in transition.

Bnei Yehuda's kept dictating a fast pace which worked in their favor but Raanana Hertzeliya went inside to Houston to stay in front. Rivi Grinboym and Dionnah Jackson did give their team the lead back but only momentarily. Dickson scored off offensive rebounds and Lena Mustafina hit a 3 to make it 45-35. Jackson ended Bnei Yehuda's drought with a jumper and a steal plus layup, and Bnei Yehuda went 6 for 6 at the line in the final 2 minutes to cut it to 48-51 at the half. Houston already had 17 points.

Shona Thorburn with a nice pass to Houston and a three kept the high scoring game going, but Bnei Yehuda had the answers. Eventually Raanana Hertzeliya again built a 65-55 lead as Dickson found the posts inside but Jackson with 12 points in the quarter got Bnei Yehuda back in the game. Raanana Hertzeliya's Israelis scored 13 out of the 24 points in the quarter for Raanana Hertzeliya who still led 75-68.

Raanana Hertzeliya's biggest lead of the game came early in the 4th, 80-68, but it did not last. Sugiery Monsac scored six quick points but Bnei Yehuda couldn't get stops and saw the deficit grow back to 74-85. Then Raanana Hertzeliya got away from what was working for them and Bnei Yehuda hit a couple of threes in a 10-0 run to cut the lead to 1 with 3 minutes to play. Dickson, who did not score since halftime, woke up with more points off offensive rebounds and a short jumper, but Monsac hit free throws and later found Jackson for a layup to give Bnei Yehuda a 90-89 lead with a minute to play. Monsac and Jackson by the way would both have been on the bench for quite a while at that point if personal fouls were kept. Raanana Hertzeliya tied the game at the line but on the other end Grinboym missed. Katia Levitzky got an offensive rebound and was sent to the line, she made both to put Raanana Hertzeliya up 92-90 with 17 seconds to go and they held on.
