Ramla Signs Nicky Anosike

The defending champs from Ramla completed their roster 08/09 by signing Nicky Anosike, a young center from the Minnesota Lynx who was the 16th overall pick in the last WNBA draft out of Tennessee.
Nicky Anosike is the last piece of the puzzle of the 08/09 Ramla roster. Anosike (22, 6'3) was mostly known as a hard working role player at Tennessee along side stars such as Candace Parker and Alexis Hornbuckle, but in the WNBA so far she has exceeded all expectations. As a senior with the Lady Vols, Anosike won her 2nd straight NCAA national title and averaged 8.8 points & 7.3 rebounds per game. In 25 games for the Lynx this season, Anosike started each game and recorded 9.0 points, 6.6 rebounds and a league high 2.6 steals per game.
Anosike is a physical inside presence, a strong defender who can defend multiple positions, and a good rebounder. She was raised in New York by a single mother along with seven brothers and sisters, and is known for her very high work ethic.
Anosike joins Tan White, Agnieszka Szott, Katia Abramzon, Annmarie Paraue, Ortal Oren, Ina Gourevitch, Inbal Mizrachi, Shiri Portat & Anat Goldberg in Ramla.
