Hapoel Re-sign Israelis, Add Americans
Safsal ,07/01/2008
Hapoel Tel Aviv has yet to name a coach for next season but has already signed to new young foreigners and re-signed four Israelis from last season.

Hapoel Tel Aviv wasn't even supposed to play in D1 this year but they will and they're getting ready. Shachar Alterman, Liran Buchris and Hadar Confortas who played in Hapoel last year have re-signed with the team. This would be the 3rd straight season with Hapoel for Haelyon and Alterman.

The new foreigners are Tierre Willson (23, 5'8) and Lauren Ervin (23, 6'4), both just out of college. Willson, an athletic guard out of Fresno State, led her team to their first ever NCAA Tournament appearance this past April while being named WAC Player of The Year. Willson averaged 15.6 points and 4.5 rebounds per game as a senior. She was not drafted, spent some time at the Mystics training camp but did not make the final roster.

Lauren Ervin was a star at Arkansas in 06/07 with 22.1 points and 9.7 rebounds per game. 16 games into her senior year she tore her ACL and ended her college career. Ervin averaged 16.0 ppg and 11.0 rpg in those 16 games, her two seasons at Arkansas were the best ever 2-seasons in school history. She spent the first two seasons of her collegian career at junior college in California, where she was named California's JUCO Player of The Year. Ervin was drafted by the Connecticut Sun with the 37th pick of this year's draft even though she couldn't play.

Hapoel is supposed to name a coach in the next few days and also add a 3rd foreigner and more Israelis to complete the roster.
