All-Star to Ramat Hen - McWilliams Signed

Maccabi Ramat Hen signed Taj McWilliams Franklin, one of the WNBA's most experienced players and 6-time All Star, who spent the last months with team USA.

Following their disappointing start of the season, Ramat Hen decided to release both bosmans and go for a 3 Americans lineup. Ekterina Dimitrova and Tatyana Troina (17.1 ppg & 6.7 rpg) were released.

Center Taj McWilliams (37, 6'2), is a 9-year WNBA vet and was considered for years as one of the best posts players in the East as she spent 8 year with the Miracle and Sun. Last season McWilliams arrived at LA and avaraged 11.1 and 5.9 rebounds per game as their starting center. Overall her career numbers are 12.3 points and 7.3 boards per game. McWilliams, a mother of two girls, last played in Israel in 1996 for Galil Elyon.

McWilliams is a versitle post player who can score inside and out. She's ranked 13th overall in the WNBA's all time scoring list (3,340 pts), 9th in rebounds per game all time, and 5th in total rebounds all time.

In September and October McWilliams played with Team USA in the FIBA world league, where she averaged 8.0 points and 8.8 rebs per game. She then played in their 8-game college tour.

Overseas McWilliams has been pretty much everywhere, from Russia and Korea last year, to Spain and Italy. In 2005 she led Berno to the Euroleague title with 17.2 points and 10.5 rebs per game.
