Dionnah Jackson was released from Ashdod and signed for a season and a half with Bnei Yehuda, where she played last season. Jackson will replace Kamesha Hairston in Bnei Yehuda.

Dionnah Jackson (25, 5'9) had a tough time adjusting to Ashdod this season. Despite a weak start of the season Ashdod decided not to make any changes before the break, and Jackson woke up in the final two games with 20.0 points (50.0% 2pt) and 8.0 rebounds a game. Despite that, the team decided to let her go.

"First it's important to me to say that I appreciate Dionnah very much as a player and as a person, I want to thank her for everything she's done for Maccabi Ashdod" said coach Daliah Bushinski. About the decision to let her go, Bushinski said: "I felt like we're reached our maximum potential as a team, mainly offensively, and in order to take the team one step forward we decided we need a change. Bring in a different player, who would fit our style of play and players", she said. Ashdod is currently 5th in the standings with a 5-5 record, they are battling Ramat Hen (6-4) and Holon (4-6) for the 4th spot.

Bnei Yehuda was very happy to get Jackson back, last season she joined the team mid season and carried the team to 12 out of 14 wins and a surprising semi finals appearance. Jackson was the glue of the group in orange and averaged 12.9 points (58.5% 2pt), 7.9 boards and 2.7 assists per game.
"We think she can help us a lot in aspects that we were lacking this season, she can bring the team together not just professionally", said Bnei Yehuda's coach, Odelia Madmon. "We have a problem with rebounding, and she can provide what we didn't have until now. She was great for us last season and we wanted her to continue, we're glad she's here", she continued.

Bnei Yehuda isn't worried about Jackson's season in Ashdod, with 10.8 points (41.3% 2pt) and 5.6 rebounds per game. "It's not very surprising considering she was playing out of position, she had to play the 4 and she kind of disappeared. It happens when things don't jell for a team, I hope she'll fit in well with us", said Madmon.

Jackson will join Bnei Yehuda for the 2nd game of the cup's 1/4 finals against Ramat Hasharon, on Thursday. On Monday Bnei Yehuda will have to do without her and also without Hairston, who's no longer in Israel.
