After a 3-year break, Maccabi Tel-Aviv is again the Israeli Cup Holders with 70-77 victory over Bnei Hasharon. Andrew Wisniewski was voted MVP with 11 points and 9 assists. Shawn James had 20 points and 12 boards in a losing cause.
Simmons' Early Revenge
Tre Simmons, who spent the last season on Maccabi Tel Aviv's bench, scored 24 points and led Jerusalem to an 86:80 win in "Winner Cup" final over his former club. Anderson scored 26 for Maccabi, but none in the final period.

Maccabi Regains the Crown!
A year after losing the championship, Maccabi Tel Aviv started a new count. The Yellows defeated Maccabi Haifa Heat in the Final Four final 85:72 and celebrated their first title since October 2007.

Marcus Brown Joins Maccabi
The 7-game losing streak in the preparation games pushed the league's runners-up to make a big move before the start of the season, and ink the Euroleague's all-time leading scorer. He'll be their 7th foreign player.
Arroyo's Debut a Walk in the Park
Maccabi Tel Aviv played their first friendly of the season tonight, and had no problems crushing Galil/Gilboa 95:60. Carlos Arroyo shined with 24 points and 4 assists.

New year, New coach?
Maccabi Tel Aviv finished 2007 with one of their most humiliating defeats of all time. Rubi Balinko and Ironi Ramat Gan, without the injured Ori Ichaki, led by a double-digit margin the entire way, en route to a 104:86, after a year's ending sale. Tolbert and Cohen had 22 and 20 resepectively.
