Jerusalem Wins after 6 Overtimes!!!

In a record-breaking game in Ashkelon, which took 3 hours and 20 minutes, Hapoel Jerusalem overcame Ironi Ashkelon 151-146 after not less than 6 overtimes, in one of the most incredible games ever to be seen in Israel!

Hapoel Jerusalem climbed to the first place in the league temporarily, after winning in Ashkelon, but the real story is the 3 hours, 20 minutes marathon which took place in what was supposed to be a regular completion game.

Ashkelon started strong, and led 22-11 after one quarter, but Horace Jenkins' terrific evening completed the turnaround and gave the visitors a 9-point final period lead. Jenkins' foul shots put Jerusalem ahead, but Hatten sent the game to first overtime with a couple of his own, 79-79.

Morris' 5 straight points erased a 4-point deficit, but Cohen split his foul shots and forced another 5 minutes, 86 all. Finished? 2 free throws by Jenkins, a missed three by Allen and it's 94-94! Third overtime!

Ashkelon led 105-101 with one minute to go, but Tapiro made two amazing three-pointers, the second on a turnaround with the buzzer, to make it 109-109! This time it was Jerusalem turn to lead by 5, but Hatten's jumper made it 126-126, as Jenkins and Tapiro already fouled out, as well as Marsh.

It seemed all over after Austin took over, but Bowers fouled out after fouling Hatten's 3-point attempt, and the latter made all 3 foul shots, 139 in the end of 65 minutes! Austin's three-pointer changed the lead for the last time, and even though Jerusalem's entire backcourt has already fouled out, they hung on to win 151-146!
