Deon Thomas, who has played overseas since breaking his leg 2 seasons ago, was cut from CSKA Sofia last week and signed today with Givat Shmuel.

Deon Thomas returns to the Premier League 1.5 years after he last left. The naturalized forward who started the season with CSKA Sofia signed today with Givat Shmuel, and might make his debut on Saturday's cup clash with Hapoel Jerusalem.

Thomas, who arrived to Israel in 98/9 as a foreigner in Maccabi Rishon, has played most of his career in Spain, and returned to Israel 5 years later after marrrying an Israeli woman. He won 2 Euroleague titles with Maccabi Tel Aviv, but broke his leg in April 2005, and was sidelined for a long time.

He finished last year with GS Larrissa of Greece, and this season averaged 8.5 points and 3.1 boards in the Bulgarian league and 9.8 points and 4.8 rebounds in the Eurocup.
