Ironi Ashkelon, with only one foreigner, put on a huge fight to Maccabi Tel Aviv for 2.5 quarters, before Rodney Buford sealed the deal with a rain of three-pointers.

Maccabi Tel Aviv was supposed to have a quiet evening tonight in Ashkelon, against a team with just 9 registerred players including a single foreigner, Marcus Hatten. Coach Spahija wanted to give Vujcic a night off, and play Noel Felix as much as he can so he can gain confidence.

However, the local team had different things in mind. They put on a great fight, as Hatten and Eitan did most of the execution, Yakusi battled like 3 foreigners in the paint and at the half it was 41-41!

Nikola Vujcic, who rested the entire first half, enterred the court and Maccabi took a 7-point lead, but Ashkelon still didn't give up. Only a fourth-quarter run with hits from downtown, led by Buford, managed to close the night, 96-76.

Hatten had 24 for the losing side, Eitan and Yakusi added 19 each, as the latter adds 13 rebounds, including 8 on offense!

Buford hit 24, with 6 of 9 from beyond the arch, Bynum added 18 with 5 assists, but also 6 turnovers and Vujcic 9 without a miss.
