Only 24 hours after Ran Asher's resignation, Givat Shmuel has already find a new head coach, and it's Ofer Berkovic.

Last night, after the surprising home loss to Maccabi Petah-Tikva 74-76, in Givat Shmuel's league opener, Ran Asher announced his resignation to the team's chairman, Motti Amsalem.

Even though Mr. Amsalem wasn't ready to accept Asher's quit, it turns out that the team didn't take long to find a replacement, and tonight they presented their new head coach, Ofer Berkovic.

Berkovic coached Haifa BC in the last season. He was supposed to stay in the team, but left in the summer due to financial problems.

The 39-year-old, who won the State Cup in 95 as Coach Effie's assistant in Hertzliya, has also coached previously in Holon, Ramat Gan and Petrom Arad from Romania.
