After just one year in Olimpija Ljubljana, and despite all the rumours concerning Seattle, Yotam Halperin comes back to Maccabi Tel Aviv, with which he signed for 3 seasons.
Yotam Halperin officially signed today with Maccabi Tel Aviv on a 3-year deal and will be presented in the team's season-opening press conference. Halperin will have an option to leave for the NBA each summer.
Halperin grew up in Maccabi Tel Aviv, led the junior team to several titles while was still very young, but in 4 seasons in the pro club, has never got the true chance to showcase his talent. Last year he left for Olimpija Ljubljana, in which he finally got to lead a Euroleague team.
After completing the Slovenian double in game 5 of the finals, he immediately left to play in pre-draft camps and make several impressions in NBA franchises. Even though some predictions forecasted him a first round pick, he was left out until the 53rd pick, by Seattle, who offered him to tryout in the final camp in October, but he refused for now.
