Bnei Hasharon waives Terrence Rencher after 2 games in which he suffered early technical fouls and didn't return to play.
Bnei Hasharon replaced many foreigners this season, but all in the same position - off guard. Terrence Rencher, Ogunna Onyekwe and Ousmane Cisse all stayed from the summer.
But after two embarrassing displays, Rencher is going home. After 4 terrific games, the American guard was called for 4 fouls in the first quarter against Maccabi Tel Aviv, including a technical, and never returned to play. In Jerusalem on Monday, the same story repeated, and coach Jino sent him to shower before halftime.
Rencher was fined 8,000 USD, and was waived off the team. Rencher by the way claims that the team over-reacted, and that he takes full responsibility for his behaviour, but also says that it seems weird that he's cut all of a sudden when they don't need him anymore.
Rencher, who was ejected twice this season, averaged 15.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 3.3 turnovers per game. In 8 games he scored 20 or more, but in other 8 games he scored in single-digits.
