April's MVP - Timmy Bowers
Shlomi Peri ,05/01/2006
Timmy Bowers of Givat Shmuel is our player of the month for April. The discovery of the month comes from the third league!

April was a terrific month for Givat Shmuel, who won 4 out of 5 games, including a stunning victory in Jerusalem, but the team is still deep in the bottom of the standings. Ofer Berkovich made the difference, but his man on the court was Timmy Bowers.

The terrific guard out of Mississippi State averaged 24.2 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 47% from 3-point field goal and 8.2 foul shots attempted per game. For that he's our player of the month for April.

Discovery of the month - Dagan Yavzury
Dagan Yavzury, who didn't even turn 21 yet, played a major role in Yoqne'am/Megido's elevation to the National League. He's a terrific pure shooter, who still needs to gain some pounds in the gym.

In the two playoff games against Be'eri he averaged 17 points and 5.5 steals per game. Prior to that he scored 16.7 points in 3 league games this month. Yavzury, another son for this basketball family, will play in the second league next season, and it'll be hard not to notice him then.
