Tamir Joins Givat Shmuel

Amit Tamir, who was released from AEK Athens almost two months ago, signed with Givat Shmuel for the remainder of the season. Coach Berkovich: "Happy that we got him".
Amit Tamir, who started the season in AEK Athens, signed today with Givat Shmuel. The team was encouraged from last night's win in Ramat Gan, and think that a win against Ramat Hasharon will open up their fight against relegation.
Coach Ofer Berkovich: "I'm very happy that we got Amit, who'll be a big force down low and especially will help us in the rebounding section. If we win on Sunday, the picture will look much different".
Tamir averaged 6.4 points and 1.6 rebounds in the Greek league, and 3.5 points and 3.2 rebounds in the Euroleague this season. He'll return to the league on Sunday for the first time after 5 years, in which he played in Cal-Berkeley University, PAOK Thessaloniki and AEK.
