Jeron Roberts scored a season-high 31 points to lead Hapoel Tel Aviv past Maccabi Rishon 88-73 in an early game from the 20th day. Second loss in a row for Rishon for the first time since November.

Hapoel Tel Aviv 88 - Maccabi Rishon 73
Jeron Roberts in his best game of the season (13 already in the first quarter, 31 overall) led Hapoel Tel Aviv to an important road win, versus Rishon who lost for the second straight time.

Hapoel scored the first 5 points, and Lamizana extended the lead to 18-10. When it seemed that Rishon is getting their act together, Roberts nailed a three-pointer and gave Hapoel a 30-19 lead.

Ryan Sidney's aggressive play down low helped Rishon to shave some of the lead, as Israel Sheinfeld also made his debut with 4 points that got Rishon within 5. However, Hapoel's dominance in the offensive glass was too much, and at the half it was 44-36.

Like so many times before, Rishon came storming out in the second half, as Sneed's good drives made it a 2-point game after Eitan's 3-pointer. For some reason, the momentum stopped here, and the Reds ran 12-2 to take 60-50 lead.

Rishon tried everything in order to duplicate last round's heroic comeback, but Jeron Roberts who made 39 of his last 42 foul shots in the league, didn't allow them to return with 13 of 14 from the stripe. In the end, 88-73.

Hapoel: Roberts 31 (13-14 FT), Farrington 15 (12 boards), Lamizana and Hatten (6 AS) 14 each, Simin 9, Yakusi and Yitzhak 2 each.

Rishon: Sneed 19, Sidney 14, Gilchrist 12 (9 boards), Matthews 11, Minoff 6, Eitan 5, Sheinfeld 4 and Farhi 2.
