Jerusalem Needed OT in Ramat Gan
Shlomi Peri ,02/25/2006
Hapoel Jerusalem came back from down 15, but an amazing last minute by Ramat Gan sent the game to overtime. Eventually, Jerusalem survives again, 81-72.

It was so close. 2-3 cm's, maybe less, seperated between Ironi Ramat Gan and a huge come from behind victory which would've enterred the record books. Avi Ben-Chimil's feet stepped on the three-point line when he nailed a huge buzzer-beater which sent the locals to celebrate in midcourt, but the referees signaled it was only a 2-pointer (Good call according to TV replay), and the game went to overtime.

Ramat Gan exploited Jerusalem's early serenity, as Awojobi and Madison take their team to a 30-15 lead, but Kantor and Naor's 4 three's in a row forced a 33-33 until the half.

Jerusalem completed an amazing 35-10 in the third quarter, and already led by 10, but a furious comeback, which included three-pointers by Lev and Gardner, and of course Ben-Shimol's jumper, forced overtime. Gardner and Rice poor evening, and a terrible night from the line (17-32), didn't allow Ramat Gan to complete the win, 81-72 in the end.

Jerusalem: Jenkins 20, Austin 19, Mason Jr. and Kantor 10 each, Tapiro (11 rebounds), Naor and Kozikaro (14 boards) 6 each, Markovich 4. Tamar Slay didn't play.

Ramat Gan: Lev 16, Madison 15, Awojobi 14, Gardner 13, Rice 7, Ben-Shimol 4, Grinboim 3.
