Huge defensive game by Yaniv Green covered for a slow evening by Burstein and led Israel to an important 74-65 win over Latvia, which almost surely send us to the next round.

Israel started with three three-pointers by Mizrachi and after a 11-2 early lead had the 23-18 by the end of the first period. K. Valters came off the bench to score 8 points in a row, and together with Skele Latvia took its first lead. Tapiro's amazing three-pointer with the buzzer got Israel within 3 at the half, 38-41.

8 straight points to begin the third quarter, led by Shelef's great minutes, put Israel ahead. Latvia scored 2 points in 8 minutes, including none in the first 5 minutes, and Hajaj's three gave Israel a 56-49 lead enterring the last 10 minutes.

Stelmahers led Latvia to its final 9-1 run, but after Sherf's timeout Israel ran 8-0 once again to take the lead for good. Good minutes by Shelef, great hustle by Green on every board and 5 of 6 foul shots by Hajaj to seal the deal put Israel on a good position to make the next round with a 74-65 victory.

Hajaj led Israel with 18, Shelef added 15, Mizrachi 12 and Green 11. Stelmahers had 19 in a losing cause.
