Matthews Signs in Rishon

Lee Matthews returns to Israel after one season in Russia, and will replace Erwin Dudley in Maccabi Rishon.
Lee Matthews, a 2.01 m forward/center who celebrated his 35th birthday last week, has signed with Maccabi Rishon for one season, and will join naturalized Jeron Roberts, who also signed.
Matthews was voted Premier League 1st team two seasons ago, while leading Bnei Hasharon to the 3rd place in the league. Last season he averaged 11 points and 8 boards in the Russian league, while playing with former teammate in Hasharon, Jerrod Stevenson, in Lokomotiv Rostov. One of his best games in Israel was a 24-point, 13-rebound putout in a road win in Rishon.
