Shelef Moves to Belgium!

Gur Shelef, Maccabi Tel Aviv's captain, will join coach Shivek in Antwerp from Belgium. Israel's NT captain in the past has signed for 2 seasons.

Gur Shelef, who played the last 7 seasons with Maccabi Tel Aviv, has signed a 2-year contract with Belgic side, Antwerp, who'll be coached by Israeli Arik Shivek, who led Demon Amsterdam to the Hollandic championship last season.

Shelef has been Maccabi Tel Aviv and Israel's NT captain since Nadav Henefeld's retirement. He preferred Antwerp over other offers, since the team from Belgium won't play in Europe next year, and he can focus on one game per week.

Shelef averaged 5.4 points and 2.4 rebounds per game in the Premier League, but only 3.3 points and 1.3 boards in the Euroleague. The forward, who grew up in Givatai'm, has also played in Ramat Gan, Gvat/Ha'emek and Galil Elyon. This summer, he'll be playing with the national team, after missing last summer's campaign.
