Wiiliams to Replace Jasikevicius?
Uri Savir ,06/12/2005
Shamond Williams is at the moment the leading candidate to replace Sarunas Jasikevicius in Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Sarunas Jasikevicius still hasn't decided where he'll play next year, but Maccabi Tel Aviv has already started thinking of a subtitute.

The leading candidate seems to be Kazan's Shamond Williams, who averaged 21.1 points and over 5 assists this season in the Europe League.

However, Williams isn't a pure playmaker, and his Georgian passport isn't as effective as last summer, since the Euroleague approves as many foreigners as you want on your team. This season, Williams returned to play with his Tar Heel teammate, Ed Cota, in the Europe League All Star game. Both of them played in North Carolina with Vince Carter and Antown Jamison.
