"Eshet Tours" Bnei Hasharon 76 - Ironi Nahariya 71

After 2 years of absence from the Israeli Cup semi finals, Bnei Sharon is back thanks to the direction provided by Dan Shamir, who is looking for his 3rd Cup in 4 years.

Paul Delaney was destined to dash Coach Shamir hopes with a very strong 24 points for the game. Bnei Sharon found themselves down three quarters of the game. Erez Katz and Ron Steele never gave up and contributed great minutes to the team. Surely feeling disappointed to let this game slip away, Coach Yaakov Jino and crew can now concentrate on improving for the second round of the Premier league and playoffs.

Beko Hapoel Holon 64 - Ironi "El Dan" Ashkelon 71

What a tough challenge for coach Miki Dorsman to come back to the head coaching position at Hapoel Holon, only to face in his first game back, the player that won the Israeli Cup for Hapoel Holon just the previous year.

Brian Tolbert seems to be built for the Israeli Cup. He single handedly dismantled Haifa in previous rounds, and tonight he scored 19 points to bring Askelon to their first Semi Finals appearance in team history.

Holon led 13-12 after eight minutes but Moran Roth came alive with five straight points and gave Askelon a 17-13 lead at the end of the first. Â Holon started the second quarter strong but 2 consecutive threes by Tolbert sparked a 16:0 run giving Ashkelon a 33-17 lead. The second half was not much different. Holon could not catch up until the last few minutes but by then it was a little too late.

Ashkelon: Brian Tolbert and Corry Carr 19, Moran Roth 12, Jimmy Baxter 8, Omar Snid 7, Brooks Silas 4, Avis Wyatt 2

Holon: Dwayne Mitchell 14, John Thomas 11 (14 rebs), Yoni Nir 11 (8 rebounds), Lior Lipshitz 11, Sean Daniel 10, Noam Matalon 3, Titus Ivory and Niv Berkowitz 2 each

Hapoel Afula 81 - Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv 95

Pini Gershon has felt the sting of losing the Israeli Cup in recent years and he is intent on not repeating the feeling. Maccabi only led by 4 at the end of the 1st quarter, but by halftime they had found a comfortable 14 point cushion. The second half proved to be not much of a difference from the first. Maccabi held on to the double digit lead for the remainder of the game.

Maccabi: David Bluthenthal 18, Doron Perkins 15 (6 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals), Raviv Limonad, Alan Anderson and Chuck Adison 12 each, Andrew Wisniewski 9 (6 rebounds), Guy Pnini 8, Stephane lAsme 6 (7 rebounds), D'or Fischer 2, Yaniv Green 1
