Beard Lands in Holon!

Hapoel Holon surprised Europe this weekend, as they closed their roster with the arrival of Tanoka Beard from Zalgiris Kaunas.
Tanoka Beard will land in Israel on Sunday and join Hapoel Holon. The veteran big man has played for Zalgiris in the past 5 years, but left after an incident with his coach on the Euroleague's second day.
Beard, who graduated from Boise State in 1993, has played a long and successful career in Europe. Among his stops: Rome, Ulker, Beseancon, Badalona, Real Madrid, Valencia, Lokomotiv Vody and Fenerbahce.
He was named twice MVP of the ACB while playing for Real and Juventut, and led the Euroleague in rebounds in the 04/05 season, which ended for him in Yad-Eliyahu, with Sharp's famous three-pointer which left Sabonis' crew outside the Final 4.
Last year he averaged 14.5 points and 9.9 boards in 31 minutes per game. In 2 Euroleague games this season he has had only 5.0 points and 4.0 rebounds.
